Ok, Thursday- here we go
I was seriously considering doing a ‘Room 101’ style Three on Thursday this time round, highlighting 3 tracks I just can’t abide and ceremonially locking them away for eternity.
Thing is, that would have entailed trawling through a sack of utter dross from the Tweetie Song to anything Abba have ever written, rather than actually listening to tunes, y’know, I might actually like…
So, lets stick to the script, eh, after all, it’s lasted for the first 100 of these …

CENTURY!
Can’t quite believe I’ve hit the ton on Three on a Thursday (ok, it would’ve been faster had I not quite been so slack over the last few months)
Since February 2011, I’ve slaved my ears to the … erm, bone … and chucked 327 tracks your way from the sublime, to the ridiculous, and this little lot makes it 330.
I didn’t quite expect it to become as popular as it has been, so thanks to those of you who read regularly. Hope you’ve enjoyed the series, and here’s to the next 100!

This week I’ve mostly been in pain.
Not, as you might expect, from riding 60 odd miles from London to Brighton for the British Heart Foundation on Sunday, (what was that? You want to sponsor me? Oh, go on then … ) but more from having my first proper falling off incident about 9hrs before I was due to start. I’ve not had road rash like this since I was about 15 years old.
Lesson learned, don’t spend many hours in the Kernel Brewery and then try and cycle across town afterwards.
Right what was that, music? Oh yeah …

Been a while since one of these – largely as I was lounging in a field at the utter hippie-fest that was Sunrise.
Bloody good music though, which – in a seamless segue – leads me onto todays little ditties.
Shameless, aren’t I.

It’s that time of the week, well, fortnight, again
Three of the finest, funkiest, downright flippin’ fan-dabby-dozy-iest tunes to grace my ears since the last one of these little missives
Enjoy

Yeah a day late, but it means I’ve got some tidy tunes for you – I’m sure you’ll forgive me.
Odd little realisation – I’ve seen every band/producer listen below live …

Mmmm, sat here stuffed with fried chicken from the awesome meatandbread who was at one of the rash of street food joints that have sprung up in Bristol recently, Bristol Eats (it was rather good and I’d recommend it)
Y’never know, you might see me playing there sometime soon ..
Right, onto the tunes then, eh? before I fall asleep Continue reading

Hey kids, what time is it?
It’s (finally) Three on a Thursday time again.
Yes I know it’s Friday
No it’s not my fault. The little girl refused to sleep til 11 last night, and I didn’t have the time to do a proper job on this after those histrionics.
Tonight however …

As is seemingly the case these days, it’s a fortnight since the last one of these I’ve cobbled together – I blame fatherhood for the low output – a combination of early starts and no sleep for making me want my bed more than I want to dredge the internet for tunes as much as I used to.
Fear not mind, I’ve managed to drag my lazy carcass to the keyboard again to unleash three new tunes on your earholes!
