Manic dash on this week, so the pre-ToT drivel is mercifully short.
We’ve got a fest of hip-hop, with some UK Royalty on mellow hip-hop duty, some slightly more underground beats and a classic from the vaults.
Onwards!
Another week, another beautiful beat from the brain of Pete Cannon. Do What We Wanna melds floating guitars with a neck snapping drumline to give us another epic track.
A beat this good has bought out the best of the UK (and the US), with Jehst & Del the Funky Homosapien, and longtime blog favourite Dr Syntax provided laid back bars. BBQ anyone?
Sticking with the hip-hop theme, but shifting the tempo up some, Give It Some is appropriately named.
Setting out the stall with a wash of 80’s drums and a wicked little guitar lick, DJ Beattrix lays down a belter , which The Doozer does full justice to.
Try keeping your head still to this one.
HT: The Man Like Moneyshot (again)
Last up this week is making it a three for three on the hip-hop front, but this one is an genuine original from the legend that is Roxanne Shante
Hitting the classic formula of ‘big funk loop with a beat’ – courtesy of Kool G Rap & Large Professor – Brothers Ain’t Shit makes an interesting change from the more common “Bitches and Ho’s” lines that seem to be prevalent in hip-hop these days.
