Apologies about the lack of a ToT last week – sadly had to spend 8-9hrs driving to and from visiting a very ill relative and really *really* wasn’t in the right headspace to write anything.
That’s not happened this week though, so we’re back with the beat (and rhymes – yes – it’s a bit hip-hop heavy this week …)
Onwards!
First up is a track from one of my top two up-and-coming UK Hip-Hop producers at the mo, Mr Loop (the other one is Krate Krusaders, and that’s in whatever order you’d like . It’s the Zoo Man is based a wicked little jazz looping beat with lovely little scratches of ODB and Guru lyrics, and bars coming courtesy of Mark from the Zoo.
It’s available over here right now … you know what to do.
Upping the tempo a little next with a little ditty, Everything ft. El Prez, from a new duo to me, Gotham Green & Quickie Mart. Loving the guitar and sax samples through this one – Bob Holness-tastic!
Last up this week is yet more hip-hop, but this time with a serious touch of the old reggae stick. Hidden Riddim comes up with the goods once again with his refix of BNC’s The Harder They Fall. Should come into it’s own when this summer we’ve been promised finally turns up … I’m assuming the Cast-a-Blast boys released it, as they didn’t send me the promo on this. Not that I’m bitter <pointed stare>
