Three on Thursday #44

Hi-di-hi Campers!

Ah, the delights of playing tunes with your mates, drinking a few beers and then attempting to write a blog post – oh dear …

Get a little excited as I’m writing this one – incoming WHOMP night this Friday at Basement 45 in Bristol. Sadly the front room is mostly house ( 🙂 ), but myself and a few good buddies with be bringing a fat sack of party breaks and beats (as well as some minging knitwear) to rock room two – schaaaaaawing!

Onwards to the tunage!

(Belated) Three on A Thursday #39

You lot are privileged this week, I’ve dragged my arse  (ok, a little late admittedly, but still …) off my sickbed purely to make sure you lot have some tight tunes to go into the weekend with. Aren’t I nice …

Three on a Thursday #36

Been a bit of a tricky one this week, what with the seemingly constant DDoSing of Soundcloud cutting down my happy hunting grounds to a  chilled snack fridge in the local 24-7  garage. In light of this I’ve reverted to *gulp* buying more music from those lovely peeps at Junodownload, as opposed to, well,  just getting given it, which is what I mean, rather than stealing the food from starving artists mouths – remember kids, home taping is killing music.

Ok, moralising over.

BOOM – tune time!

Three on a Thursday(ish …) #34

Boom-chicka-wow-wow it’s that time of the week again and I’m in a funktacular mood – guess what that means for todays selections?

I think this upbeat mood is in large part caused by only working a 3- 1/2 day week as I’m off to that Laaaaahdahn tonight, where Creeday and myself will be mixing it up on the 1’s and 2’s in support of Celeste Dos Santos and the Tabloid Queens at the Alley Cat on Denmark St in Soho for the evening – pop in an say hello!

Onwards!

Three on a Thursday #23

Another week, another Three on a Thursday for you.

I’m writing this in a demob happy mood, as I’m off to Cornwall to brew beer with a mate, and hopefully catch a few waves … either that or install myself in the local, cursing the lack of a decent swell.

So to warm you up for your weekend, here’s some Atlantic soul, a late night ghetto funk chiller and some crazy tweaked Italian jazziness. Enjoy!

Three on a Thursday #22

I think the improved weather has affected my mood – either that or the prospect of a weekend filled with bass, beer and BBQ is getting me over excited. With this in mind there’s an upbeat flavour to this weeks tuneage – just for a change. Right, enough blathering, heigh-ho, let’s go!

Three on a Thursday #21

21, eh, hasn’t she grown …

It’s that time of the week again where I present you with the finest beat, breaks, bleeps and wobbles that have blessed my ears in the last seven days. Only rules for these tracks is that they must be new to me and awesome. Not hard then …

If you like these little gems I lob in your general direction each Thursday there’s a couple of opportunities to see me playing live in the next couple of weeks – check the Gigs page for the details.

Three on a Thursday #20

I think we’ve finally managed to dry out after a rather brilliant (if thoroughly pissy-arsed) Chilled Cider at the Square & Compass in Worth Matravers (a village which according to whoever modified the sign is twinned with Royston Vasey), though I’m not sure if my liver has recovered after too many pints of the local loony juice. In spite of this epic bender over the weekend, I’ve returned to bless your lug’oles with more finely selected tunes …

Three on a Thursday #17

I’m liking this paternity leave thing, despite the broken sleep and nappy changing, it’s given me plenty of time for tune rummaging. Still hasn’t stopped my prevaricating and posting this at almost 9pm – ah well. Still I hope the tunes are worth it! Continue reading
