I have risen!
Managed to make a Lazarus-eque recovery after my weekend of knocking at Deaths door – seriously the wife was on the verge of doing the Old Yeller routine, and taking me out the back of the shed and putting two between my eyes execution style if I didn’t quit my moping. Good job she saw sense, admittedly after half an hour of pleading, else you lot wouldn’t have any tunes to listen to, would you?

Erm, yeah – a bit late. Long days at work leads to me sitting down with a beer, which leads to a lack of motivation to blog – well, a short attention span, which is much the same thing.
Managed to get my shit together for long enough this evening to drop a smidge of science for you though, never fear – which this week consists of glitch-hop, hip-hop and some silly bassy funky nonsense …
Been a bit of a tricky one this week, what with the seemingly constant DDoSing of Soundcloud cutting down my happy hunting grounds to a chilled snack fridge in the local 24-7 garage. In light of this I’ve reverted to *gulp* buying more music from those lovely peeps at Junodownload, as opposed to, well, just getting given it, which is what I mean, rather than stealing the food from starving artists mouths – remember kids, home taping is killing music.

Right – post pub blogging is GO!,
I usually try to get this sorted out for mid-afternoon, but the weather was nice and the pub was calling. A steak and a few beers (from the highly talented boys at Bristol Beer Factory) and I’m feeling exceptionally verbose, bordering on the grandiloquent.
Best get onto the music sharpish, before I start gibbering utter crap, hadn’t I?
Boom-chicka-wow-wow it’s that time of the week again and I’m in a funktacular mood – guess what that means for todays selections?
I think this upbeat mood is in large part caused by only working a 3- 1/2 day week as I’m off to that Laaaaahdahn tonight, where Creeday and myself will be mixing it up on the 1’s and 2’s in support of Celeste Dos Santos and the Tabloid Queens at the Alley Cat on Denmark St in Soho for the evening – pop in an say hello!

I’m back again to delight your ears with more odd bleeps, beats, breaks and wobbles (whilst shamelessly pimping gigs obviously)
Oh, did I mention gigs? If you’re about in Bristol over the weekend I’ll be giving it the beans upstairs at Big Chill Bristol with Trilby Tricks, whilst P.O.D.G.E., Ewan Hoozami, Slim Goodgroove and the mighty Featurecast go large in the main bar. Would be ace to see you there!

Yes it’s the moment you’ve been waiting for all week – it’s Three on a Thursday time!
Compiling the tunes this week has been a bit of a different one for me – sometimes it feel like I’m desperately trying to find three tracks to recommend, but I’ve been drowned in a glut of them recently. From the promo reviews I’ve dropped from Cast-a-Blast and Hero Records, to new bits and bobs from Smoove, Audited Beats, Kraak& Smaak and Four Tet, I’ve been spoiled with new stuff, some of which didn’t quite make the cut.

Before I go straight into the good stuff, a little admin is required, mostly to do with a little more information on the gigs I hinted at last week.
First up is supporting the mighty Featurecast (!) with the Regrooved boys in Bristol on the 17th of September.
On the 22nd September I’ll be at the Alley Cat Bar on Denmark St in London with Celeste Dos Santos & The Tabloid Queens.
Would be ace to see you guys at either of ’em!
