Wow – #50, how did that happen?
Seems like it was only yesterday that I was working out what exactly I could do with this blog, other than putting my own mixes up on here and decided to share a few of the audio gems that my incessant music geekery found out, and here I am a year later (yes, I know, I missed a couple) having shared 150 tracks.
Speaking of which, lets get onto to the tunes shall we?

It appears to be that time of the week again where I descend from my Ivory Tower (ok, two up, two down in Bristol) to educate your ears with the newest good shizzle to hit mine.
Many thanks for those of you who liked the tunes last week, the Tom Drummond refix hit the Hype Machine Most Popular Blogged Tracks Top10 after I posted it last week, which made me feel like quite the tastemaker – lets see if we can do it again for any of the three below shall we?
I know, I know – I missed one. As in ‘totally missed’ rather than ‘was a day late’. The only excuse I have is that I managed to leave my laptop charger was in the Midlands, whilst my laptop was in Bristol, with the two only being reunited on New Years Eve which to be honest was when I was more interested in attempting to drink my own bodyweight in booze. I succeeded in this mission so well, that the next couple of days were a bit ropey and low an behold a week was missed

Well, now the grovelling is over let’s get involved shall we?

Right, just to state this will not be a ‘three of the most tenuous Christmas themed bootlegs that I’ve had inflicted on me this week’. It will be a proper Three on a Thursday, with quality tunes.

Afternoon kids
Wow – that was a week and a half, wasn’t it? All I did was post a brief review of the Ghetto Funk boys latest, and I end up with about 3 months worth of traffic in 3 days … shame I don’t have my own advertising on here, I could’ve bought at least half a pint of Mild with the proceeds.
Still, hopefully all this increased interest should up the views in this weeks three little ditties I’ve got lined up
I fear this one might be a bit of a mad rush – I got distracted by beer (making it for once, rather than just drinking it) and all of a sudden I’ve got an hour to scrawl my feeble attempt at prose before it’s too late *gasp*

Ah, the delights of playing tunes with your mates, drinking a few beers and then attempting to write a blog post – oh dear …
Get a little excited as I’m writing this one – incoming WHOMP night this Friday at Basement 45 in Bristol. Sadly the front room is mostly house ( 🙂 ), but myself and a few good buddies with be bringing a fat sack of party breaks and beats (as well as some minging knitwear) to rock room two – schaaaaaawing!

I’m feeling rather chipper this week, for no particular reason really (other than the fact that I’ve only got twelve days work left at work this year, and the fact I’ve had a couple of pints) so this is definitely an upbeat selection for your ears this week.
If you’re out and about tonight I’ll be down at No. 51 Stokes Croft having a beer with Rackabeat & Bar-low, and Hidden Riddim at the launch of their new night, so if you like these selections, you can come and buy me a pint.

I’ve decided to get my (increasingly chunky) arse down the gym this week for the first time in a while, so this Three on a Thursday comes with me thoroughly knackered, and ensconced on my sofa – hence the slightly mellower tone than usual.
I’ll also use this brief opportunity to pimp my next night on the 2nd December at Basement 45 in Bristol. A word to the wise, have a rummage in the back of your drawers for the worst jumper you can lay your hands on for the 4th Annual Bad Jumper Party with the Whomp DJs. Big in the Game!
