On time and everything eh?
Should you want to hear me do my thing live, I’d spinning a few tunes at the opening of my mates Barbershops – Bearpit Shotgun on Saturday night.
Pop in, eh?
I’ve recently developed a bit of a disco habit (don’t worry, it’s not a problem, I can give up anytime I want … erm, honest) and through the education, nay, the charity work of the lovely chaps at Supersmash, was introduced to the Razor N’ Tape label.
Latest tune to drop from them is this little pearler from Fouk, called Whiskey Ginger – loving the subtle Jacko ‘whooo’ and the squelchy as hell bassline.
Next up is some straight up and down old skool hip-hop beats and bars, straight out the ghetto of, erm Utrecht.
I first peeped Propo ’88 when he was working with fellow man from Da Showgunz, Blabbermouf, and from the odd bits and bobs I’ve heard, this chap has chops.
Astronomic Delight is his latest album, and the track that’s copping the heat this week is Dee Original Shit with Self the Bluest Eye – nice little head nodder of a beat which harks straight back to the glory days of the early 90’s.
Last track is some straight up and down funk from Izo Fitzroy, Here I Come, given a little lift from a bloke I’ve not heard much from in faaaar to long, Flevans.
Mmmmm, breakbeats *and* hammond organ – I’m really spoiling you lot.
