Festive binge session over, I’m back with three of the finest tunes to have graced my ugly lugholes since the last one of these was posted – which to be honest an almost embarrassingly long time ago …
First up this week it’s back to one of my favourite UK MC’s, the one, the only Mr Dirty Dike, this time giving it big licks about where he grew up – glad it was him living there not me on this short and sweet track, New Street.
Cracking work on the beat by Pete Cannon as well
Next it’s a little bit of wobbly nonsense from Skeptix, the latest and greatest signings to the ever reliable Riddim Fruit – loving the Burial-esque skittery drumness going on on Organic
It really sounds like it shouldn’t work, pairing up the Mr Dynamite with the doyennes of Trip-hop, the Hardest Working Man in Show business with the Grumpiest Man in the West Country, but James Brown’s I Feel Good works pretty damn well over the utterly chilled Roads by Portishead.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you DJRozRoz / I Feel Roads
